The Unified Service Node (USN) allows for the carrier to start with a 2G or 3G GSM-R system to gradually upgrade to a 4G LTE thereby reducing the CAPEX in the mobile Packet-Switched (PS) network. The USN9810 features multiple access standards and multiple logical product types. It supports access to the GPRS, UMTS or LTE and exists in the form of the SGSN, MME or their combined logical type. It can be used in the 2.5G General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) system, 3G Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), and evolved packet core (EPC) system. The USN9810 helps prevent traffic storms which are common to mobile broadband. The system also helps to eliminate any single point of failure in the network or service disruptions due to its high reliability.
