What is a subrack?
Subracks are used to store Huawei UGW9811 boards. The Huawei UGW9811 supports three types of subracks - PGP-16, PGP-X8, and PGP-X16. The Huawei UGW9811 requires only one UGW9811 subrack and each type of subrack supports 4 main configurations with slight difference in each specification for each subrack for each configuration.
What are the types of boards in the Huawei UGW9811?
The Huawei UGW9811 consists of 5 main types of boards - SRUs/MPUs, SFUs, SPUs, PEUs, and LPUs. The SRU/MPU is the main control and switching unit. It is responsible for centralized control, management, and data exchange. The SFU supports efficient data exchange. The SPU performs service control, user packet forwarding, flow control, QoS, and content resolution functions. The PEU performs the traffic shaping function for the burst traffic destined to the eNodeBs, improving the bandwidth usage of the S1-U bearer link. And the LPU provides the physical interfaces to connect the Huawei UGW9811 to external networks.
What are the software in the Huawei UGW9811?
The logical structure of the Huawei UGW9811 consists of the access management (AM), service management (SM), charging management (CM), platform service (PS), operation and maintenance (OM), and local maintenance terminal (LMT) modules. The AM is the principal module of the Huawei UGW9811 to support its various access modes. The SM obtains and controls policies for user data flows. The CM processes charging protocols and manages CDRs. It also works with the external charging to provide multiple charging modes. The PS module distributes and processes signaling packets and data packets of the Huawei UGW9811. It also performs functions such as system support, OM and routing. The OM module performs the functions of device management, data configuration management and alarm management. Lastly, the LMT module provides graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
Now, let’s move on how you could order the Huawei UGW9811.
