WHO participation (2015):
- A mass immunization campaign to protect children from measles in the aftermath of Cyclone Pam was successfully completed by the Ministry of Health, Vanuatu with the support of the Government of Australia, Save the Children, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO) and World Vision. The vaccination campaign reached more than 95% of the children targeted in Efate, Tanna, Santo and the most affected of the Shepherd Islands. Nearly 24 000 children, ranging from 6 months to 5 years, were vaccinated against measles, and given vitamin A supplementation and deworming treatment.
2013 contraceptive prevalence was 49%.
